<noinclude>S.P. May p.245 Orin Sears removed to Hingham, MA, where he carried on salt works and a farm. He was for many years a local preacher, class leader and steward in the Methodist Episcopal Church, and has served the town as Selectman and Clerk.
Walter E Babbitt papers, Sturgis Library shows he m. Hanna Maria Hopkins - Family chart by Mrs Robert H Marshall - Orin worked as a farmer and had saltworks. Owned packet which sailed from Brewster to Boston, raised the Barrel when ship was in, lived in West Brewster in "Packet House." was town selectman and clerk.
NEHGS Register Vol 104, p. 218 He removed with his family to Hingham in 1846 and was for several years the proprietor and manager of salt works on the westerly side of the harbor.
